Mindful Moments Becoming the Bulb

As winter slowly loosens its hold and the first hints of spring appear, I invite you to pause and meet this quiet in-between.

Take a moment to become the bulb—resting beneath the soil, still, supported, and patient. Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down. Close your eyes, take a slow breath in, and a long breath out. Let your body settle.

Imagine yourself as a flower bulb surrounded by darkness and coolness. Nothing is required of you here. With each inhale, feel nourishment; with each exhale, release the pressure to hurry. Silently say to yourself: “I am allowed to wait.”

Picture tiny roots forming—anchoring, strengthening, and preparing in silence. Notice sensations in your body: warmth, heaviness, subtle energy. Let everything be exactly as it is.

Now feel a soft warmth above you—the first hint of spring. Not a call to rise, just a gentle invitation. You don’t need to respond yet; simply sense the possibility.

Take one more slow breath, and when you’re ready, open your eyes. Carry this knowing with you: rest is part of growth, and your moment to bloom will come in its own time.

I invite you to honor this quiet transition, trusting that, like the bulb beneath the earth, everything you need is already growing within you.
