Power Vinyasa Yoga

A few years ago I started doing Crossfit at Crossfit Hofplein. A result of doing Crossfit was that my muscles became shorter and tensed. In order to overcome this problem I did a weekly mobility class, which was actually a yoga class. Since the first mobility class I have been hooked. I loved focussing on breathing and challenging the body in ways I have never known before.

Yin/ Restorative Yoga

15 years ago I first came into contact with Yoga. It has given me strength and inner peace. I have over the years and during my travels through Asia practiced many different forms of yoga, my passion lies with Iyengar, Yin Yoga and Restoritive. I have done Yandara Yoga Institute on my Bali Yoga Teacher Training Course and specialized myself in Yin / Restoritive Yoga. I love to share this with you.

Yin Yoga postures are performed sitting or lying and are held longer time to stretch the connective tissue to relax the body and mind. Restoritive Yoga has an emphasis on the high and low back muscles. Using props such as bolsters, blocks and blankets we find the posture that is pleasing to you.

Pilates

I have been always trying to balance my life between my two true loves: Ballet and Law. Except for being a ballet teacher and pilates-yoga instructor, I am a lawyer specialising in Maritime Law. Twelve years ago when I was firstly introduced to pilates and yoga, I immediately fell in love and - needless to say - I never stopped practicing ever since.

Meditation

Fauzia started meditating 13 years ago. She had no idea why, but she felt lost, unhappy, and very stressed. She noticed rather quickly the positive and powerful effect of meditation. She discovered that she is able to pass "this feeling” through guided meditation. She started a small group back in 2006. It was one meditation course - every Friday. Now she gives guided meditation in 3 locations. See short Fauzia's video

Gentle Flow Yoga

My first encounter with yoga was bullseye; its relatively slow but controlled pace, the body alignment, the spiritual indications. Yoga spoke my language and all I wanted was more.
The more I began to practice, the more curious I grew to different styles and schools of yoga. So I plunged into its deep waters and soon floated along with the current and found a world left to explore: traditional Hatha, Sivananda, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa flow, Do-in, Yin & Yang and some more styles that altogether made me realize I was in love. See here introduction of Iris

Prenatal Yoga

From childhood on I looked at life with a critical mind and asked myself questions about life. At the end of my study at the Art Academy I started to practice Yoga, intuitively I got attracted to it. Even in the twelve years I worked in the fashion world, I was practicing Yoga, I attended courses and I was teaching. I also did self-examination in groups, meditations (vipassana), shamanistic ceremonies and traveled extensively.

Vinyasa Yoga, Positive Psychology

I have been practicing different styles of yoga since 2009 but my main love and focus is on Vinyasa Yoga. I started practicing out of curiosity, only to find myself being more and more passionate about it. This incredible feeling that a yoga practice leaves you with, is what kept me going. Calmness, purification, lightness, fulfilment and harmony are only few words to describe it.

Power Vinyasa yoga, Yin Yoga

My first encounter with vinyasa yoga was in the autumn of 2013 when I was travelling for one year. I was diving and surfing in Indonesia and joined a vinyasa yoga class with a very bright, cool and down to earth guy from Uruguay. The class was hard work, sweat dripping on my mat. Back home before travelling I was doing slow hatha yoga for a few years, but this vinyasa yoga was a different ballgame. I thought hmmmm….yoga doesn’t have to be woolly or spacey! It can be very down to earth and physical. It all depends on the teacher and your own practice.
